Charu grew up in Delhi and her passion for making people pretty lead her to unravel her love for make-up. Which provoked her to travel across India and the globe learning make-up traits, technique, lights effects, face autonomy. She had learned the traits of make-up under the mentorship of celebrity make-up artists Vidya Tikari and Bharat & Dorris. She did her diploma in master make-up from Hollywood's renown Cinema Make-up School in Los Angeles, USA. In her career spanning for a decade and a half, she had the virtue of working with Hollywood’s renown celebrities Albert Brooks, Cate Blanchet , Sheetal Seth . Bollywood and Tollywood celebrities Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Madhuri Dikshit, Kamal Hassan, Neha Dhupia, Vikram, Prabhas, Vijay , Jiiva , Anushka Shetty, Trisha Krishnan, Neetu Chandra, Andrea Jeremiah, Mallika Shehrawat, Sushmita Sen, Huma Qureshi, Shruti Hassan, Amrita Rao, Sameera Reddy, Sushma Reddy, Kangana Ranaut and many others She had honors to do make-up for US President Obama and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She had done make-up for world renowned journalists Tina Brown and Fareed Zakaria In the course of her career, she was deeply touched and appalled with the challenges female make-up artists had to go through in their day to day life because of gender discrimination in the industry. She took up the cause with Hon. Supreme Court of India against the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). The Hon. Supreme Court gave landmark verdict which changed the course of history, allowing women make-up artist to work freely and ending gender discrimination. Charu is involved in many philanthropic initiatives on women empowerment and gender equality.
